Inter have announced that Genoa midfielder Thiago Motta has joined the club on a permanent transfer, signing a four-year contract at the San Siro. The move has been touted for over a month, but was not officially confirmed until July 1.
"FC Internazionale are pleased to announce that Thiago Motta has joined the club on a four-year deal from Genoa," began a statement on the club's official website, inter.it.
"The Brazilian midfielder, born in Sao Bernardo do Campo on August 28, 1982, has put pen to paper on a contract which will run until June 30, 2013. The documents relating to the transfer have been registered at the Italian Football League's offices."
The fee of the transfer was undisclosed, but the Nerazzurri did reveal a number of youngsters would be moving in the opposite direction.
"As part of the deal, Francesco Bolzoni, Leonardo Bonucci and Riccardo Meggiorini joins Genoa on a permanent basis."
The midfielder had a renaissance season with the Grifoni after suffering from a number of injury problems during the past few years of his career.
